Currently in focus
- Formally launch a dedicated space on the Council's website to promote available support (free training material). This support will allow individuals to gain the digital skills required to tap into the benefits of using digital skills at home and in the workplace. The site will be the focal point of the Council's response to the issue of digital isolation.
- Expected completion July 2022.
- The development of an online tool that creates an individual's personal development plan, to assist our customers in gaining the recognised digital skills as per the Government's Digital Skills Framework. This will be achieved through using the vast array of free training material. The tool will look to gamify the process of learning new digital skills while simplifying the process of offering the right training material subject to an individuals identified needs. Training material based on an individual's starting position in terms of acquiring what are referred to as both the Foundation and the Essential Digital Skills.

- Promote the work of organisations that provide assistance to those with accessibility issues online.

- Launch of the Council's device loan scheme. Working with partners the Council will develop a digital device loan scheme allowing residents to loan a connected computer. The Council will loan devices to its residents to promote the benefits of being online and to address any short-term need to access a computer.

- A program which will deliver full fibre connections to the property infrastructure of public sector locations.
- Expected completion December 2022.
- Through the ASELA partnership, the likes of Openreach, Virgin and CityFibre has committed resources to make the borough gigabyte ready (full fibre to the property) to address government targets (85% coverage).

- The development of a formal partnership with 'Every Child Online' to tackle digital isolation within borough.
