The Place - multi-purpose leisure centre
The Place at Pitsea is now closed.
Basildon Borough Council is working with the NHS to create a new Community Diagnostic Centre in the heart of Pitsea on the site of The Place, Pitsea Leisure Centre. The new building will offer services including x-rays, phlebotomy ,CT scans and MRI machines. With plans to serve over 250,000 people annually, it aims to reduce waiting times and improve access to healthcare.
The new building will include a brand-new Community Facility including halls and rooms to hire for local groups and will become the new home for the Pitsea Activity Centre. It will also replace the existing Pitsea Library with a new facility.
