Direct Debit (recommended)

Direct Debit is an easy and convenient way to pay from a bank or building society account and you can choose whether to pay on 1st, 16th or 23rd of each month for rent, or the 1st, 16th and 27th of each month for leaseholder service charges.

You can inform your bank or building society should you wish to cancel payment at any time and the Direct Debit Guarantee allows an immediate refund to you if anything should go wrong.

You can complete a Rent Direct Debit Mandate online to set up your direct debit.

You can complete a service charge and/or housing invoice mandate online to set up your direct debit.

24 Hour Automated Payment Line for Credit/Debit Card Payment

This is an automated payment line available 24 hours every day of the year!

You will need your 10 digit rent account number, or your invoice number and your credit card details when you use this service.

The Basildon Centre

You can pay your housing and/or garage rent by cash at your bank. For account details see Paying your rent by cash at your bank

Payments can be made at the payment machines on the ground floor the Council's offices in The Basildon Centre, which is open at the following times:

  • Monday- Friday: 9.00am-5.00pm
  • Saturday: 9.00am - 1.00pm
  • Sunday: Closed
Paying your rent by cash at your bank

You can pay your council housing and/or garage rent by cash at your bank. Please make payments to the following Basildon Council account:

  • Sort code: 30 80 12
  • Account number: 1831 7468  - (this account number is for council housing and garage rent payments only)

IMPORTANT: When making a payment to Basildon Council at your bank, please be sure to include the correct payment reference number on your bank payment slip. Depending on what your are paying for this will be one of the following:

  • a Basildon Council invoice number
  • a Council Tax account reference number
  • a Council housing or garage rent reference number.

Local Post Offices and Payment Outlets

Rent and leaseholder payments can be made by using your rent payment card at local post offices, or at any local business displaying the PayPoint sign, such as newsagents, convenience stores or filling stations.
