Choose How to Pay - Business Rates
Making a payment to Basildon Council is becoming easier with more choices available. Pay council tax and/or rent via e-Services, a direct debit or recurring payment or pay online. More information is available below.
Setting Up a Direct Debit
Direct Debits are the most convenient way to pay. Choose your payment date and relax, Basildon Council will take your payments as scheduled, so you have peace of mind your bills are being paid on time.
Payments can be made in full once a year or divided into instalments paid twice a year or 10/12 monthly instalments. Please note - if you have two unpaid Direct Debit payments in one financial year, this option will be withdrawn and you will have to pay Business Rates via a different method.

- 14th

Change/Cancel a Business Rates Direct Debit
Login to e-Services to change a Direct Debit plan, for example, change a payment date or frequency.

To cancel a Direct Debit, please contact your bank directly.
Make an Online Payment
Business Rates can be paid online with a Credit or Debit card, there's no surcharge for these payments. Paying online is ideal for one-off invoices, if you're paying online every month a Direct Debit may be more convenient.
Please have your account number to hand - find this on your bill, it starts with '17'.
Please note - online payments made on weekdays will be posted to your Business Rates account within 24 hours. Online payments made on Friday evenings, weekends and bank holidays will take longer.
BACs Transfer
You can set up a BACS Transfer arrangement with your bank to pay your Business Rates.
Please have your account number to hand - find this on your bill, it starts with '17'.
To set up a BACs Transfer you will need Basildon Council's bank details, which are as follows:

Please note - when setting up a BACs Transfer be sure to check the time it takes to transfer money by BACS with your bank. You must ensure payments will be received by the date specified on the Business Rates Bill, in order to avoid recovery action being taken against you
Pay by Phone
Business Rates can be paid over the phone using a Debit or Credit Card, there's no surcharge for these payments. You will need your Account Number, find this on your bill, it starts with '17'.
Please note - telephone payments made on weekdays will be posted to your Business Rates account within 24 hours. Online payments made on Friday evenings, weekends and bank holidays will take longer.

In-person Cash or Card Payment
Pay your Business Rates using one of our self service automated payment machines in the Basildon Centre Reception area.
Our self service automated payment machines accept cash or a Debit or Credit card, there's no surcharge for Debit or Credit Card payments.
The automated payment machine will ask for your Business Rates Account Number which you will find on your Business Rates Bill, (starts '17').
