The Leader of Basildon Council, Cllr Gavin Callaghan, has kicked off an Easter Egg donation campaign aimed at spreading some joy to children and older residents in the Borough's sheltered housing communities.
The Leader of Basildon Council, Cllr Gavin Callaghan, has kicked off an Easter Egg donation campaign aimed at spreading some joy to children and older residents in the Borough's sheltered housing communities.
With Easter just around the corner, Cllr Callaghan is calling on local businesses, faith groups, and residents to contribute Easter eggs for the cause.
"I'm encouraging everyone—residents and businesses alike—to get involved and help make this Easter a little brighter for those who need it most," said Cllr Callaghan.
He continued, "Many families and individuals are facing significant challenges right now, and as a council,it's our duty to support them. This has been a core focus of my administration since we took office last May. From the Warm Homes Guarantee to the Education Essentials Grant, Christmas Gift drive, and now this Easter Egg appeal, we are committed to delivering on our promises."
Donations will be accepted at the Basildon Centre, St Martins Square, SS14 1DL, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm until April 14, 2025. All donations must be received by 5pm on Monday, April 14, to ensure they are delivered to the designated locations.
