Properties on a Friday week 1 Waste and Recycling collection incorrectly showing a non-recycling collection due today 19th April 2025.

We are aware of an error impacting Friday week 1 waste collections, which meant some properties showed a non-recycling waste collection due today, 19th April, on Where I Live and the Our Street App, ahead of weekly collections starting from 28th April. This collection was showing in error and the issue which caused this has now been resolved. As per the bi-weekly week 1 waste collection still active, your next collection was due Saturday 26th April, and weekly thereafter. Please therefore take your black wheelie bin back in and represent this on your next collection date. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this error may have caused.

In the news: Local business scoops 'Gold Award' in the Good Employer Charter

Billericay based construction company Re-Gen UK Ltd has been awarded the prestigious Basildon Good Employer Charter Gold Award.

The award was presented at the Business leaders breakfast event which took place on Monday, 3 March, at the Holiday Inn in Basildon.

The Good Employer Charter is a fully funded accreditation scheme from Basildon Council which seeks to support a network of responsible local businesses. It aims to build a network of Good Employers from right across the borough, that do business responsibly, enabling both employers and employees to benefit as the economy grows.

Cllr Gavin Callaghan, Leader of Basildon Council said: Supporting Basildon's business community is one of my top priorities. We're committed to funding initiatives that promote local businesses and encourage investment in our economy. 

"Strengthening our local economy requires a collective commitment. Businesses and employers play an important role in creating a local economy that not only attracts investors but opens up opportunities for further growth. The Charter is a testament to the strengths of Basildon's economy by showcasing local businesses' commitment to their employees, customers, suppliers, business partners and communities.

"So, very well done and congratulations to Jeremy Hartland and his team at Re-Gen UK."

The Charter supports the success of the local economy by promoting and encouraging the use of local supply chains, creating local job opportunities on a fair wage, paying attention to staff wellbeing and development, best practice in equality and diversity and environmental sustainability.
