In the news: Huge Win in Court for Basildon Council against Perpetrator of Anti-Social Behaviour

Basildon Council has secured an injunction against a perpetrator of anti-social behaviour, a resident of Nethermayne, and served it on him.

The court order instructs him to vacate the property within 48 hours and excludes him from the surrounding area thereafter.

The court's decision is the welcome culmination of much hard work by Basildon Council's Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Safety Team working closely with its Sheltered Housing Team and Legal Service Team.

Councillor Melissa McGeorge, Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said: "This is very welcome news indeed and a testament to the hard work of our officers. It clearly demonstrates that this administration is fully committed to making Basildon a safe place for everyone. Behaviour that makes life unacceptably unpleasant for other residents will not be tolerated and if you indulge in it, you will be dealt with."

Basildon Council will continue to take tough action against those who jeopardise the safety of local communities. In 2025, Basildon Council is committed to making our communities safer places to live as one of our principal aims, and this is just the beginning.

We encourage anyone who experiences anti-social behaviour in Basildon Borough to report it via the council's website - Report Anti-Social Behaviour - Basildon.
