Environmental Information Requests

The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provide public access to environmental information held by public authorities.

The Regulations do this in two ways:

  • public authorities must make environmental information available proactively;
  • members of the public are entitled to request environmental information from public authorities.

Fees and charges:

  • A fee of £106.00 must be paid at the point of submitting a request under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. We will not process the request until this is received.
  • Payment should be made on our secure portal, accessed via the below link.
  • Please insert the full name of the individual or Organisation making the request, as the reference for your payment
  • You will need to tell us the unique payment receipt number on your request form

DISCLAIMER: Please note that information held by the Council may not be complete, or superior to, that which you may be able to obtain from other sources and may not provide you with a resolution to your enquiry.

Once we receive your request under the Environmental Information Regulations, we will:

  • acknowledge receipt as soon as it is received
  • ​​review the request to make sure we can release the data
  • Inform you if additional charges apply to be able to collate and release the requested information
    • If collation of the information is anticipated to take more than 2hrs of officer time, additional charges will be payable at a rate of £53.00 p/hr
  • provide you with the data within 20 working days
  • inform you if we will take longer than 20 working days to provide it
