Sheltered Housing provides older residents with a comfortable, manageable and secure home of their own; preserving their privacy, dignity and independence, whilst giving them ready access to additional support when they need it.
However, it should be realised that sheltered housing is not intended, and not designed, to provide nursing care.
Our 23 page Sheltered Housing Information Leaflet provides contact details and locations of all 47 sheltered housing schemes in Basildon, Billericay and Wickford.
The following leaflet explains our policy on storing and charging mobility scooters in our sheltered housing schemes and general needs flat blocks:
See, Housing Transfers.
Tenants in Sheltered Housing schemes that meet the criteria laid down by the TV licensing authority will only have to pay £7.50 for their annual TV licence, but please be aware that not all of our Sheltered Housing schemes meet the TV licensing authority criteria.
Regardless of the criteria laid down by the TV licensing authority, tenants in Sheltered Housing schemes who are over 75 years of age or who have a permanent disability are also entitled to a Concessionary TV Licence.
