Licensing - Premises licence other; notifications and statements
Guidance on less commonly sought after premises licensing matters including: Notifications of interest, Notifications of a change of address and Provisional statements.
1 - Premises Licence: Notification of a change of name or address
The licensing authority must be notified if there is:
- any change of name or address of any person named on the premises licence
- any change to the name or address of a premises named on the premises licence
Application forms
Notification of change forms are only available from the GOV.UK website which also gives full guidance on the notification procedure including additional information you must supply and payment of notification fees.

Notification fees
There is a statutory fee of £10.50 for processing the notification.
Additional information you must supply with of your notification
When you submit your notification, you also need to include:
- Notification of the relevant change
- The current premises licence
- Payment of the notification fee
2 - Premises Licence: Notification of interest
If you have a legal interest in a licensed premises, e.g. you are the leaseholder, freeholder etc., and you wish to be notified of any licensing applications we receive in relation to that premises, then you must submit a Notification of Interest.

Notification fees
There is a statutory fee of £21.00 for processing the notification.
3 - Premises Licence: Provisional statement
A provisional statement provides applicants with a means of establishing whether a premises that is being or about to be constructed or substantially altered for the provision of licensable activities would be granted a premises licence after the building works are complete. The applicant will therefore be able to determine whether the proposed business is viable before investing significant amounts of money.

PLEASE NOTE: Separate to submitting their Provisional Statement application form, applicants MUST remember to advertise their premises application in the local press and on the premises as explained in our guidance notes, see Advertising an application for a premises licence (PDF) [87KB] (opens new window) .
Once we receive your application we will:
- Acknowledge it within three working days

When you submit your application, you also need to include:
- Provisional statement application form
- Premises plan
- Copy of site notice
- Application fee
Application fees
There is a statutory fee of £315.00 for processing the application.
The advantages of online applications
If you complete the whole application process online from the GOV.UK website. This will include:
- submission of electronic copies of additional information you must supply
- payment of application fees
- Notification of your application to all responsible authorities, as required by the licensing regulations
