Social Housing Decarbonisation fund
Basildon Council is working in partnership with EON to deliver the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) - improving the energy performance of homes to EPC Band C to take homes out of fuel poverty and deliver progress towards the UK's commitment to Net Zero by 2050.
Eligible tenants will receive the home energy efficiency upgrades free of charge. The cost of installing these energy efficiency upgrades will be accessed through Basildon Council and funded by the Government Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
The aim of the upgrades is to make homes warmer and greener by installing green technology such as cavity wall or loft insulation, external wall insulation, heat pumps, and solar panels.
You may have received contact in March 2024 about the upgrades and to book direct appointments with E.ON and their contract partners - Thrift Energy Group and Cornerstone. The teams will contact you to book your home assessment and will visit your home at the agreed time and day before confirming next steps.
