In the news: Health and Social Care Job Fair supports local people into employment

The fair was held for those that have a passion for care and are interested in exploring their career options, those already employed in health and social care and wanting to learn something new, and those wanting to return to the sector.

The event hosted a range of exhibitors covering areas across the Health and Social Care sector, such as Havens Hospice, Home Instead, Bluebird Care, and many more. Attendees were invited to meet these employers, explore their current vacancies, and get support to apply.

South Essex College's Adult Skills Team offer a course in health and social care for people who are wanting to enter the sector. The team were on hand at the event to talk to attendees about careers in the field, and help them enrol to the course if it was the right fit for them.

The NHS had a significant presence at the fair, with opportunities to speak to various representatives from the NHS (Mid & South Essex Integrated Care System and Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust).

Councillor Anthony Hedley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Business Engagement said "The Health and Social Care Job Fair was another fantastic opportunity for local people to meet employers within the sector, hear about their vacancies, and get the support they need to apply, all in one place with exhibitors covering a range of areas.

"The Advice Store is a great asset for our community and one that benefits many of our residents to help them take the next step in their career."
