In the news: Upcoming estate improvement events for Felmores residents
As part of our significant works on the Felmores estate over the coming months, we will be running a series of community events to engage with residents about improvements they would want to see.
Works are happening as part of the council's Safe and Sound Estates programme - a borough-wide project with millions of pounds of investment to enhance our estates across the borough.
The events are to engage with residents on the estate on how they can get involved in improving it, and also to find out what further improvements residents would want to see outside of our existing programme of works. There will be a gazebo at each event from 11am-3pm with a range of council officers and relevant partners there to provide support for issues such as housing repairs, crime and anti-social behaviour, and waste management.
There is also a free family fun event for residents on the estate towards the end of August, where there will be face painting, inflatable fun, and lots more.
The dates for the events will be:
- Wednesday 3 August - Littlebury Green - green area by the basketball cage
- Wednesday 10 August - Malyons - green area at entrance to Malyons
- Wednesday 17 August - Plumley's - green area in between Plumley's & Little Searles
- Wednesday 24 August - free fun event in Parkside
Cabinet Member for Housing and Estate Renewal, Cllr Andrew Schrader, said: "Our Safe and Sound Estates programme will transform our estates into thriving communities that residents can really be proud of.
"In addition to our significant works already planned, these estate events will help us learn from residents and our tenants about how we can do even more to improve their estate for them.
"Please come along to one of the events to share your views, and also come along to our fun event which will bring the community together for a day of entertainment for all."
