What you need to know
A fee may apply in some circumstances
There is no charge for:
- information offered via our public registers
- lists of information
- published data sets
- information published in our disclosure log
- examining information at the council's offices
We are entitled to charge a fee if the cost to give the information exceeds £450 worth of officer time spent. This is known as the 'appropriate limit'. Our aim is to work with you to allow a response without charge wherever possible.
If we are unable to agree to a change to the request which brings the cost below the appropriate limit, we will either refuse to answer, or apply a charge of £25 per hour of officer time.
Any charge must be paid before we will process the request.
In most cases, there will be no fee for responding to a request for copies of personal information. But if a person requests further copies of their information following a previous request, we can charge a reasonable fee for administrative costs.
If you are told that a charge applies, this must be paid before we will process your request.
We are sorry that you are not happy with how your request is being handled or that the information sent appears to not be right.
