Licensing - Alcohol and Entertainment
As the Licensing Authority for Basildon Borough, Basildon Council grants licences for the sale and/or supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment.
Temporary event notice applications
You need a Temporary Event Notice to operate outside the terms of an existing premises licence, or to hold an event on unlicensed premises that includes the sale or supply of alcohol or licensable activities.
Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) applications, inc. variations, removals and exemptions
A licensed premises which sells or supplies alcohol must appoint a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) who possesses a valid Personal Licence.
Premises licence applications, inc. variations, transfers and interim authority notices

Personal Licence Applications
Any person employed as Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) in a licensed premises must hold a Personal Licence issued by their local Licensing Authority.
Applications for a licence review
Anyone experiencing problems with a licensed premises can apply for the premises licence to be reviewed. If the review process finds there has been a failure to comply with the licensing objectives then penalties can be imposed or the licence revoked.
