In the news: Creative Tech Fest Returns - Bigger, Bolder, and Packed with Possibilities
After a hugely successful first year, Creative Tech Fest is back in Basildon this February 2025, with even more to explore. This year's festival is bigger, with more events for schools and young people, families and businesses. It's a chance to get hands-on with the latest technology, hear from industry experts and discover how digital innovation is shaping the future.
The expanded programme includes:
● Ideas Exchange - A series of discussions on the big topics shaping business today, including AI, automation and green technology. Expect practical insights from leading voices such as national broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake, BAFTA-winning filmmakers, MasterChef finalists and global sustainability experts.
● Tech & Gaming Experiences - Interactive events for all ages, where you can try out VR, motion capture, robotics and digital creativity in a fun and accessible way.
● LAB 2.0 at CNH - A day of hands-on activities designed for young people, featuring an exclusive CNH plant tour and workshops run by Screen South, STEAM Powered Education and The Drone Rules.
Councillor Jessica Power, Basildon Council's Cabinet Member for Jobs, Skills, and the Local Economy said: "This is an incredible opportunity for our community to dive into the world of technology and creativity. It's a chance to be inspired by cutting-edge innovations, learn new skills, and collaborate on projects that will shape the future of Basildon Borough. There's a whole schedule of hands-on activities, workshops, and inspiring talks taking place across the borough, suitable for business and residents of all ages."
New for 2025: Tech Art Fest

Led by visual artist and educator Connor Turansky, it will feature free workshops, live demonstrations, talks and networking opportunities at Unit 10. Supported by Culture Essex and Metal Culture, the festival explores music tech, gaming, digital art and more.
