Easter Egg Donation Appeal
The Leader of Basildon Council, Councillor Gavin Callaghan, has launched an Easter Egg donation appeal to spread Spring cheer to children living in temporary accommodation, children in receipt of free school meals, and to residents living in sheltered accommodation in the borough.
Cllr Callaghan is calling on businesses, faith groups and the local community to join the effort by donating Easter eggs.
Drop your donation to the Basildon Centre, St Martins Square, SS14 1DL by Monday 14 April.
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

The Local Plan Part 2 Consultation is Now Live - Have Your Say!
The Local Plan Regulation 18 Consultation - Part 2 is officially open! This is your chance to give feedback on additional policies that will shape the future of Basildon Borough.
Councillor Adele Brown, Cabinet Member for Planning and Infrastructure said: "This is a Local Plan shaped by local people. We listened carefully to the feedback from Part 1, and now we are delivering on our promise to ensure the policies in Part 2 reflect the needs and priorities of Basildon's communities."

Basildon Council have listened and are improving your waste and recycling services across the borough for households.
Let's bring pride back in the borough.
From 28 April 2025, the new waste service will commence with weekly residual waste collections returning and the current white and blue reusable sacks being replaced with two single-use disposable bags: white for cans and plastic, and blue for paper and cardboard.

Garden Waste Subscription Service 2025/26
Subscribe to the weekly garden waste subscription service for 2025/26.
The cost of the service:
- £50 for one garden container collection
- £50 for each extra container
The charges stated apply for subscriptions commencing from 1 April 2025.

Noak Bridge Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 16 Consultation
Noak Bridge Parish Council have submitted their neighbourhood plan proposal to Basildon Borough Council. This Neighbourhood Plan gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area.
