Big Jubilee Lunch
Why not get involved in organising a Big Jubilee Lunch to mark the historic occasion this summer?
A Big Lunch can be anything from a small gathering in a garden, park or driveway, to a larger party with trestle tables down the middle of your street. You can share food, have fun, and get to know your local community a little better.
Volunteers are wanted for Big Lunch events within our borough's parks and community spaces on 5 June, to host lunches for your friends and family or for the wider local community. To find out more, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you're wanting to host one in your street, you may want to consider closing the street with a street party application.

- Gloucester Park, Basildon - 12pm to 4pm
- The Nevendon Centre, Wickford -12pm to 5pm
- The Paddocks, Pound Lane, Laindon - 2pm to 6pm

Street party applications
If you're thinking of organising a street party then you will need to submit an application.
To simplify the application process, there is now a new single form which covers all parts of the application, including the application for road closures. This form can be printed from the link below and returned to the council at the address shown. See:
The closing date for street party applications is Friday 20 May. Approval for a street party may take a considerable time to process, so you are advised to submit your application as soon as possible.
Please also remember that there will be a need to clean up after the event and this should be planned as part of the organisation.
