In the news: Wickford Welcome to bring family fun to Wickford High Street

Residents are invited to take part in six Saturdays of family fun as Wickford High Street hosts Wickford Welcome - filled with music, food, superheroes, magic and more.

Wickford Welcome will run for six Saturdays from the end of September to early November, giving residents ample chance to join in the fun. Each Saturday will have a unique theme, with food trucks offering unique cuisines, activities and free live entertainment for families to enjoy.

Cllr Hedley, Chairman of the Regeneration & Economic Development Committee welcomed the High Street celebration event: "Now that restrictions have eased it's time to get out and enjoy our fantastic high streets with confidence. Wickford Welcome is the perfect celebration to show off all that Wickford has to offer and I hope the community will come together for these unique celebrations."

Wickford Welcome is presented by Basildon Council in partnership with Sophisticated Entertainment, an event management company based in Noak Bridge. Wickford Welcome is made possible with the Welcome Back Fund, an extension of the Reopening High Street Safely Fund, issued by the UK Government and the European Regional Development Fund in which the Council is receiving up to £165,814 of funding up to the end of March 2022. This funding will continue to enable the council to deliver an array of interventions as part of its Town Centre Recovery plans to help support local businesses and keeping residents safe.
