15 April 2019 - With the Easter weekend almost here, Basildon Council is working hard to ensure that disruption to services is kept to a minimum.

Refuse and recycling collections due to take place on Good Friday (19 April) will be moved to Saturday 20 April. All collections next week will be one day later than usual due to there being no service on Easter Monday (22 April).

Barleylands Recycling Centre will be open as usual throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

Visit Barleylands Recycling Centre for more information on opening times.

The Basildon Centre will be closed to the public on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Assisted self service will be available from 9am until 1pm on Saturday, but our telephony enquiries service will be closed. The library will remain open between 9am and 5pm.

Residents will still be able to make payments online and access other council services at www.basildon.gov.uk and our emergency out-of-hours phone line will remain in operation.

The George Hurd Centre and our other activity centres in Pitsea and Laindon will be closed throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Place will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but will be open as usual on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Wat Tyler Country Park will be open to the public from 9am until 7pm throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, with its facilities open from 10am to 4.30pm.

The Towngate Theatre will be open at 5.30pm, two hours before the performances on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday and closed on Easter Monday.
