When will the election take place?

The election will take place on Thursday, 23rd May 2019 between the hours of 7.00am and 10.00pm.

How do I find out where my polling station is?

Your poll card will detail your polling station. However, you can also find your polling station by using the Council's Where I live... web page.

Will I receive a poll card?

Yes - Each registered elector who is eligible to vote should receive a poll card providing further information on how they can vote.

You do not need to take your poll card with you to vote but it is very helpful to do so.

When is the last date that I can register to vote at the election on 23rd May 2019?

The deadline for registering to vote in this election is Midnight on Tuesday 7th May 2019.  See Register To Vote for details of how to register to vote at elections.

When is the last date that I can request / amend a postal vote?

The deadline for new applications to vote by post, new applications for a proxy postal vote and also any amendments to existing postal votes and proxy votes is 5pm on Wednesday, 8 May 2019. When is the last date that I can request / amend a proxy vote?

The deadline for applications to vote by proxy (except for medical or employment emergency) is 5pm on Wednesday, 15 May 2019. After 5pm on Wednesday, 15 May if you are unable to vote in person because of a medical condition, illness, disability or due to work reasons you can apply for an emergency proxy up until 5 pm on polling day (Thursday, 23rd May 2019) subject to the appropriate attestation being provided. Further information about proxy votes can be found at Proxy Vote - Appoint Someone To Vote On Your Behalf .
