GOV.UK Public Consultation - A new deal for social housing

Basildon Council is calling on residents and landlords to have a say on the Government's new social housing green paper

The green paper, published last month, aims to tackle stigma and ensure that social housing can be both a stable base that supports people when they need it and support social mobility.

Councillor Don Morris, Basildon Council's Chairman of the Housing Committee, said: "This process involves a call for evidence, which is about providing information to support the way we do things at present. We are seeking views and comments on the green paper from our tenants and a summary of the information sent back to us will be included in the response. The information will also be used to improve our services."

Details of  the proposals contained within the 'new deal for social housing' green paper can be found on the GOV.UK website, see GOV.UK - A new deal for social housing.
