Community Clean-Up Roadshows

We are giving you the opportunity to help improve the cleanliness in your local area.

Community Clean Up Roadshows 2018 Basildon Council currently has a recycling rate of 48% but we believe this could be even higher. We aim to highlight ways residents can recycle more.

Across the borough 85% of flytipping reports were for household waste items such as mattresses, sofas, cabinets, chairs and white goods. Flytipping is the illegal dumping of waste and is a crime. The collection of flytipping costs Basildon tax payers around £70,000 a year and this is why we are clamping down on this environmental crime.

Community Clean-Up Roadshows

Over the next six months we will be hosting a series of community clean-up roadshows within different wards in the borough. This aims to give you the tools you need to help us help you!

At the event, you will see:

  • Top recycling tips including recycling rules.
  • Information about recyclable materials - with a focus on plastics.
  • Help with setting up community recycling programmes.
  • Information about Flytipping and the correct ways to dispose of rubbish.
