Careline - How it works

Careline is a 24 hour personal alarm service provided by Basildon Council that can bring total peace of mind to you and your loved ones at the touch of a button.
With a Careline alarm our clients can live safe in the knowledge that they can always get help when they need it, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The alarm is easy to install - it simply plugs into an existing telephone jack plug and a nearby mains electrical socket - and we supply you with a simple push button wristband or pendant alarm linked to our Careline monitoring centre.
When you press your alarm button an alert is received by the Careline Monitoring Centre and a Careline operator will contact you within 60 seconds to decide on an appropriate course of action, which maybe to summon help from a relative or other nominated keyholder or if necessary to call the emergency services.
EASY to use
You can call for help at any time of the day, any day of the year, simply by pushing the red button on your Careline wristband or pendant.
SIMPLE to install
We can install your Careline alarm unit in one visit, usually within a few days of you telling us you want it.
VALUE for money
You can have total peace of mind from just £3.98 a week, (that's just a little over 56p per day), ...great value for money.
The Careline push button wristband or pendant alarm
The Careline alarm is available as a wristband or pendant. It is very simple to use and will work in your home and garden, leaving you free to get on with your life.
In time of need simply pressing the red button on your wristband or pendant will immediately connect you to our dedicated 24 hour call centre. So, if you ever have an emergency or a fall, you can be sure to get help quickly.

We can install additional sensors designed to maximise your safety and independence.
How we install the Careline alarm unit in your home
Basildon Careline provides all of the required equipment and can generally install an alarm within days of receiving your application.
We will fully install and test the equipment of your choice; all you will need is a telephone socket and a nearby 3-pin power socket.
The system will be explained to you in your home and we will always try to include your relatives to make sure everyone knows what is involved.
We will also make sure that you understand our obligations to you as our client, and what you need to do to make the system work.
The only technical requirement is that there must be a plug socket available within two metres (approximately six feet) of your telephone socket.
