Leaseholder Harassment and Nuisance

We want our leaseholders to enjoy their homes without being harassed or annoyed by their neighbours.

Your lease states that: 'you or your visitors must not do or permit or suffer to be done in or upon the Premises anything, which may be or become a nuisance or annoyance or cause damage or inconvenience to the Lessor or to the Owner of any other Flat'.

Examples of unacceptable nuisance and annoyance are:-

  • Loud and frequent playing of music, radio or television
  • Noisy parties
  • Other loud noise such as frequent arguments
  • Harassment of neighbours
  • Uncontrolled animals
  • Blocking of shared areas in the building or estate
  • Litter, rubbish and fly-tipping
  • Hate related incidents (based on race, sexual orientation, gender, disability, religion age etc.)
  • Garden Nuisance

We take matters of harassment and nuisance seriously, so if you are suffering nuisance caused by a Council tenant(s) or another leaseholder(s), then we urge you to contact our Anti-Social Behaviour Team who will take will investigate your complaint and take appropriate action.

Noise nuisance can also be reported to and dealt with by the council's Environmental Health Service, see report a noise problem online.
