Environmental Health Services Enforcement Policy
Environmental Health Services enforce a wide range of legislation that seeks to safeguard the environment and the health, safety and well being of our community
The impact of decisions taken by Environmental Health Practitioners can be very significant on the individual or business concerned and so enforcement actions have to be carefully considered. it is important that our customers understand the way we make decisions about enforcement.
The Regulatory Services Enforcement policy was adopted by Cabinet in February 2015 after a period of public consultation. It is intended to provide advice for officers, businesses, consumers and the public. It also take into account the requirements of other key agencies such as the Local Better Regulation Office, the Health and Safety Executive and the Food Standards Agency. The policy now also incorporates Planning and Building Control Services.
